The idea of broadcasting Lama Tsering’s teachings is not new. It really began in 1991, when she was in her three year retreat, and Chagdud Tulku Rinpoche was unable to open Dzogchen retreat at Rigdzin Ling in northern California, due to delays in his travels caused by severe flooding. He thus asked Lama Tsering to open the retreat, and wires were set up between her house and the shrineroom, and Lama Tsering did her first teaching broadcast right from her retreat room.
Later, Chagdud Rinpoche requested that she continue to make teachings available without leaving retreat, and a small amplifier was set up so that she could broadcast, on occasion, to students gathered in the garden in front of the retreat house.
Chagdud Tulku Rinpoche’s intentions still live on as his students look for ways to extend the teachings of Lama Tsering. With Dharma Stream, a new chapter has begun, utilizing Lama Tsering’s ongoing commitment and intensive teaching schedule at the Odsal Ling center in São Paulo, Brazil.
